On Tuesday, May, 8th, 2018, his Eminence, the Bishop of Corfu, Paxoi and Diapontian Islands, Mr. Nektarios did the Divine Liturgy in the celebrating church of Virgin Mary the Kassopitra, in Kassiopi village.
In his preaching, his Eminence presented the history of the seeing miracle of Stefanos, who was falsely accused of stealing and thus, punished with losing his eyes. Stefanos went to the church of Virgin Mary in Kassiopi. There he prayed for the whole night, for the Grace of God in front of the miraculous image of God’s mother and in the morning, his eyesight was back. Lady Theotokos, through Her embassies to Her Son and God gave his eyes back to Stefanos. Many people are wondering about what a miracle is. It is the Uncreated Grace, Christ who acts in this world. Divine Grace is realized only by those who fight for God’s knowledge in their lives and then the miracle takes place.
Moreover, the Bishop of Corfu using as a basis the recent activities voted in the Greek Parliament and noted that, unfortunately, the ones in power are clinging to the wicked and fighting Christ, crucifying Him daily and trying in every way to take Him away from the hearts of humans. But in spite of all these antichristian plans, the faith of the Greeks grows, and their participation in the Sacraments of our Holy Church is growing, because they know that the Holy Trinity and the Saints are their hope and refuge.
Concluding, Mr. Nektarios praised the spiritual work that has been accomplished all these years by the priest of the Virgin Mary the Kassospitra. Father Gerasimos Katsaros, a former Prelatic Warden of Kassiopi region, wishing Mrs. Theotokos to give him power and grace him.
At the end of the Divine Liturgy, his Eminence participated in the litany of the miraculous icon of the Virgin Mary the Kassopitra, as well as the sacred image of the Resurrection.
